Patient Care

The Pediatric Critical Care Program emphasizes the fundamentals of clinical diagnosis, patient assessment, and clinical management.  As part of a multi-disciplinary team of subspecialists, nurses, therapists, pharmacists and nutritionists, the attending intensivists participate in the care of pediatric patients of all ages, from the infant to the young adult, and have the skills to diagnose and manage all patients with acute life-threatening problems. They provide skilled, compassionate care in the areas of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, trauma, triage, and multi-organ system dysfunction/failure.

The program places major emphasis on developing professionalism and a compassionate understanding of critical illness and death. We are receptive and responsive to the needs of the patient and their families and work together as a team to provide optimal care and support.
