Pure Autonomic Failure

Pure autonomic failure was first described by Samuel Bradbury and Cary Eggleston in 1925.

Pure autonomic failure is a neurological disorder of unknown cause characterized by orthostatic hypotension with frequent evidence of widespread autonomic failure.

No other neurological deficits are present. Some patients with the manifestations of pure autonomic failure may later prove to have other disorders such as multiple system atrophy.
