Autonomic Disorders Fellowship
The Department of Neurology of New York University School of Medicine offers a two‐year fellowship in autonomic disorders.
The fellowship provides intensive training in the diagnosis, evaluation and management of patients with genetic and non‐genetic disorders of the autonomic nervous system.
The program includes training in the performance and interpretation of neurophysiological tests of autonomic nerve function in children and adults as well as participation in clinical trials and research conducted at the Dysautonomia Center and the opportunity to collaborate in basic science research. The fellow will be actively involved in the clinical management of patients and in weekly teaching conferences at the Center. He/She will share in the responsibility of teaching neurology residents rotating through the autonomic laboratory.
The NYU Dysautonomia Center is an international referral center for patients with genetic autonomic disorders, including familial dysautonomia and other hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathies (HSAN), as well as sporadic onset autonomic disorders such as pure autonomic failure, multiple system atrophy, autoimmune autonomic neuropathies, Parkinson’s disease and dementia with Lewy bodies.
Eligible candidates must have completed neurology residency training and hold a valid New York State license or a Limited Permit to practice medicine in the State of New York. Salaries for clinical fellows are commensurate with training.
