Alejandra Gonzalez-Duarte, M.D.
Post-Doctoral Fellow
Dr. Gonzalez-Duarte came to the Center following a two-year NeuroAIDS Fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
She earned her medical degree in Mexico City and went on to an Internal Medicine Residency at Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Medicas y Nutricion Salvador Zubiran.
She completed her Neurology Residency at the same hospital.
Philip Giarraffa, M.P.H., M.S.W.
Social Worker
As an employee of the Center since January 2000, Philip has worked with the dysautonomia community in a multifaceted role that has facilitated frequent interaction with FD patients, family members, and clinicians.
Philip continues to navigate various social service systems with the objective of providing assistance to families and to improve the quality of life of FD patients.
Philip holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Hunter College of the City University of New York and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from New York University.
Jose Martinez
Senior Research Manager
Mr. Martinez earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in biology, from Syracuse University; then earned his M.A. in Applied Physiology from Columbia University.
He previously gained experience in managing research projects and laboratories at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Columbia University and the New York State Psychiatric Institute.
Natalie Bailey
Academic Coordinator
Natalie Bailey is the managing editor of Clinical Autonomic Research; Dr. Kaufmann is the editor in chief.
Natalie also aids in the coordination of all clinical trials and studies at the Center.
