Interpreting Services & Translators
Foreign Languages
NYU Langone Medical Center makes every effort to provides interpreters for non-English-speaking persons to ensure proper communication between the patient, the physician, and other hospital staff.
Staff members of the International Services Program are available to assist patients and their families with interpretation services. The program can arrange for interpreters to accompany patients to all their appointments and to be available throughout the patient's hospital stay.
Interpretation services may also be arranged through the Language Assistance Program.
Sign Language
NYU Hospitals Center's Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program provides access to effective communication for patients, companions, and families who are deaf or hard of hearing. Services, including sign language interpreters, assistive listening devices, and other auxiliary aids, are free of charge.
