New articles highlight research accomplishments of Pediatric Infectious Diseases faculty

Two new articles from Pediatric Infectious Diseases faculty members describe some of the division’s recent research work.
Dr. Charlotte Hobbs and co-authors published the results of work investigating the effect of HIV protease inhibitors on the parasite that causes malaria. The full article, which was featured on the cover of the January 1 issue of The Journal of Infectious Diseases, can be viewed here.
In the January issue of Pediatrics, Dr. Jennifer Lighter and co-authors examined a new method of diagnosing latent tuberculosis infection, the QuantiFERON-TB Gold test, for which limited data on children had previously been available. The article can be viewed here.
